We have some NFL preseason action between a pair of teams in the Lone Star State as the Dallas Cowboys visit the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium on Thursday.

The Dallas Cowboys will look to grab their first win of the preseason after falling to 0-3 with a 27-3 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in their last outing. Mike White and Cooper Rush combined to throw for 250 yards and 3 interceptions on 28 of 39 passing. Bo Scarbrough led the Cowboys with 21 rushing yards on 7 carries, Rod Smith turned his 7 carries into 17 rushing yards. Dres Anderson led the Cowboys receivers with 52 receiving yards while Rico Gathers hauled in a team-high 5 catches in the loss. Defensively, Randy Gregory logged a sack while Jourdan Lewis and Justin March-Lillard recorded a team-high 4 tackles.

The Houston Texans will be looking to finish the preseason on a high note after suffering their first loss of the preseason in a 21-20 loss to the L.A. Rams in their last outing. Brandon Weeden threw for 108 yards, a touchdown and an interception on 10 of 17 passing while Joe Webb III threw for 93 yards and a score on 7 for 10 passing and DeShaun Watson logged 15 yards and an interception in completing half of his 6 pass attempts. Alfred Blue racked up 45 yards and a touchdown with his 5 carries, while Vyncint Smith’s lone catch gave him the team lead with 43 receiving yards in the loss. MyCole Pruitt logged a team-high 4 grabs, while Braxton Miller and Quan Bray each added a touchdown reception. Defensively, Kareem Jackson recorded an interception and Marcus Hardison added a sack while five different Texans shared the team-high with 4 tackles.

Dallas is 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 road games and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games overall. Houston is 1-7 ATS in their last 8 Thursday games and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games overall while the under is 4-0 in their last 4 games on turf. The under is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings between these two teams.

We haven’t really seen Dak Prescott or Ezekiel Elliott in the first three weeks of the preseason, and I’m going on the assumption that we aren’t going to see them in the last week of the preseason, the week where the starters rarely see the field if at all anyways. Dallas’ performance through the first three games have shown that it really is a Prescott and Elliott offense or bust, as the backups just can’t move the ball or put points on the board. Houston has shown the ability to get it done on both sides of the ball in the preseason, so I’ll side with the Texans to finish strong in this one.
